Professor Joong Hee Lee has received his Ph D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, USA in 1995. With very active research, he has published more than 333 SCI papers (h-index 61, 20113 citations) on the functional composite materials. He has established the Korea Composite Research Co. Ltd, which is one of the leading company in the composite materials in Korea.
He is now the Executive Vice President of Jeonbuk National University and the Director of Advanced Materials Institute of BIN Convergence Technology of Jeonbuk National University. With his great achievement, he has received the Best Scientist and Engineer Award of the Month in 2013 and the Knowledge Creation Grand-Award in 2014 from the Ministry of the Science and ICT of Korea. He has received the best research professor award for last consecutive 9 years from the Jeonbuk National University. Currently, he is the Fellow of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology and the Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea. He is currently the President of Korean Society of Hydrogen and New Energy and the Principal Vice President of Korean Society of Composite Materials. His current research interests are focused on the synthesis of advanced functional nanomaterials for biosensor and energy applications.
